A few times a week we have herds of elephants and more often lone bulls in front of our lodge. The lone bulls stay for some time enjoying the sweet grass while the herds move through quickly towards the river. When the herds move through at dusk they provide a surreal experience, they seem to shuffle silently passed. If one is not nearby and looking onto the savanna then the whole episode would have been missed. I think of them like this as ghosts in the night silently and with purpose. Truly our savanna is an ever changing movie!
