Arrival and departure times, conservation/gate feeWe require indemnity forms to be filled in upon arrival. • Check-in 14:00 - 21:00 You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive. • Check-out 05:30 - 11:00 A QR code will be sent to your cellphone allowing you quick access to enter the Mjejane Game Reserve. This will be sent to you on your arrival date. A R200.00 conservation/road fee is charged for multiple entries over 7 days. Cash is not accepted at the gate. Please adhere to the speed limit in Mjejane reserve as there are camera's monitoring speed and fines are issued.

Getting into the propertyOwner will meet the guest on location. The main gate to enter the reserve closes at 21:00 strictly, no exceptions can be made! Final head count and registration numbers of vehicles to be given in advance of arrival. No more than 10 people including children of all ages allowed.

Accommodation and housekeepingWe are only allowed to have 10 people including children. 2 people per room. Children of all ages are welcome. Housekeeping is included in your daily rate.

Airport shuttleWe can provide transfers from Johannesburg to the lodge. We can also provide transport from Kruger Mpumalanga airport. The rates depend on the amount of passengers and from which airport.

Damage DepositYour guests pay a damage deposit of: ZAR5000.00 You collect your damage deposit by: Credit card or EFT You collect this from your guests: 14 days before arrival You return your damage deposit by: Credit card or EFT You return this to your guests: 4-5 days after departure

Self-CateringWe are a self-catering lodge which means that you need to provide your own food. We have a gas BBQ but supply firewood for our boma. There are ample grocery stores within 20 km for all your catering needs. SPAR, Shoprite, Pick&Pay are all located in Malelane. In addition, there are a number of restaurants nearby. We recommend Hamiltons which is about 12 km from our entrance.

Directions and travelling information- Before guests enter Mjejane, names and vehicle registration numbers are required. - Please note strict gate times 06:00 to 21:00 – no exceptions. - Inform gate that you are booked at Lodge No. 56. Please advise us what your estimated time of arrival is. A QR code will be sent to your cellphone allowing you quick access to enter the Mjejane Game Reserve. Still on the N4, continue on towards Hectorspruit/Komatipoort/Maputo. Pass through Hectorspruit and find Mjejane gate on the left hand side 3 km after the Engen garage in Hectorspruit. Once inside Mjejane, continue on the main road. Once inside the development node (black gate that opens electronically), take the 1st sand road to the right. Continue on this road for approximately 2 km to the end and find us on the right hand side. Only certified vehicles with rangers can drive around in the area. - Due to anti-poaching activities, access to Kruger Sunset Lodge and the reserve closes at 22:00. - All vehicles and /or person entering and leaving Mjejane Game Reserve may be subjected to a search.

MalariaMalaria is endemic to the Mpumalanga region of the country including Mjejane Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park. We have had no malaria incidents at our lodge and take the following general precautions, i.e., mosquito netting over beds, electronic mosquito pads in every room as well as insect repellent is supplied to guests.

General rulesWe are part of the greater Kruger National Park and employ an anti-poaching unit. Walking, hiking and bicycling is allowed in the "Kingsland area" only. Only plains game are in this area and it is considered safe. Walking within the daylight hours inside the development node is permitted but running and cycling is NOT permitted. No vehicles are permitted to traverse in Mjejane Game reserve except on designated roads. No motorcycles are allowed into Mjejane Game Reserve. Guest may not hunt, cull, capture or shoot at game. Feeding of animals is prohibited. Guests shall not damage or remove any flora. Guests may not create a disturbance by playing music or make excessive noise in the game reserve or the lodge. Fireworks within the Reserve is strictly prohibited. The speed limit on Mjejane game reserve is 40 km/h strictly! No vehicles are allowed to drive off the main designated road in Mjejane. Guests may not bring any pets including birds into Mjejane reserve. Before guests enter Mjejane, names and vehicle registration numbers are required. All vehicles and /or person entering and leaving Mjejane Game reserve may be subjected to a search. Due to anti-poaching activities gates open at 5:00 and close at 22:00. Smoking is not allowed. Parties and events are not allowed. Guests must be quiet between 01:00 and 24:00. Unmanned aircraft systems and drones are strictly prohibited in all areas in Mjejane game reserve and Kruger National Park. Guests enter Mjejane Game reserve at their own risk. We require indemnity forms to be filled in upon arrival.

Safety and animal presenceTo protect visitors from animals we have an electric fence around our lodge. It is relatively low but generally keeps predators away. As far as crime or human traffic is concerned, we are probably the safest place to be. Access is strictly limited. We have security as well as professional anti-poaching units operating in our area. Although wildlife is present near or on the property, basic cautionary measures ensure your safety.

Cancellation policyA 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking, the balance must be paid 14 days before arrival. If you cancel within 14 days of your arrival you will forfeit 100% of the booking total. If you cancel 30 days before arrival you will get a total refund of your deposit.

Prepayment policyYou will be charged a prepayment of 50% of the total price after reservation if your booking is longer when 1 night.

Safari/game drive tipsAs far as possible wear earthy colours, e.g. khaki, green, brown. Please avoid bright colours such as pink, red, blue. A sweater may be required at times during the winter months (May to September) very warm clothes including a windbreaker (jacket) are essential. Ponchos/raincoats will be provided.
